Welcome back to another heartfelt episode of The Artful Mind!
In this episode, Big Poppa Stampley shares something beautifully simple that just might clear up one of the most common struggles we face—writer’s block.
Ever Had Writer’s Block?
It sneaks up on the best of us—whether you’re an artist, a journalist, an entrepreneur, a marketer, or someone simply trying to put emotions into words.
Writer’s block can feel like a jammed faucet when you need your thoughts to flow. But I’ve got a little prescription for that—and trust me, it works.
Before we dive in, I want to ask you a simple question: What’s your morning routine like? Take a moment. Answer it sincerely.
The Secret Formula
The world has become so busy that, at times, we fail to check in with ourselves. Even our cars break down when we skip regular maintenance. So what about you?
It’s just as important to have a morning routine that helps you evaluate your thoughts and feelings.
That daily check-in with yourself goes a long way. And that leads us to my special prescription:
A simple notebook (one that you cannot tear pages out of)
A quiet morning moment
A willingness to let go
Here’s What You Do:
Keep the notebook next to your bed.
The moment you wake up, pick it up and write two full pages.
Don’t stop to think.
Don’t worry about being “good.”
Just write what’s on your mind.
And yes, I do mean anything and everything—random thoughts, feelings, dreams, plans for the day, or even nonsense. That’s all part of the beauty.
Why It Works: The Power of the “Mind Dump”
This practice is called a mind dump, and it’s incredibly powerful. By releasing all those swirling thoughts onto paper, you create space inside for clarity, creativity, and peace.
It’s like wiping a foggy windshield before heading out into the day. You’re not trying to write something brilliant—you’re simply freeing your mind so the brilliance can come later.
My Experience
I’ve tried it.
It takes about 15 minutes.
And honestly? I loved it.
It helped. I felt lighter, clearer, and more present throughout the day. You might be surprised at what shows up when you let your thoughts flow without judgment.
So how about this: try it tomorrow morning.
Just you, your thoughts, and the page. Then come back and tell me about your experience on any of our online platforms.
What showed up for you? How did it feel? I’d love to hear how this little shift makes a big difference in your day.
With Love, Always
Thank you so much for being part of the Reve journey. We love you. We appreciate you. And we’re always cheering for your peace, your purpose, and your creativity.
Until next time…
Talk to you soon,
Big Poppa Stampley
