Our Christmas Dessert Trio: Tiramisu, Trifle, and Classic Fruit Cake

Tiramisu Wonderland


Ladyfinger biscuits
Strong brewed coffee
Mascarpone cheese
Cocoa powder

In a bowl, mix mascarpone cheese with sugar until smooth.
Separately, whip egg whites until stiff peaks form.
Gently fold mascarpone mixture into the whipped egg whites.
Dip ladyfingers in coffee and layer them in a dish.
Spread a layer of the mascarpone mixture on top.
Repeat layers and refrigerate for a few hours.
Dust with cocoa powder before serving.

Trifle Extravaganza

Sponge cake or pound cake (You can also use crushed biscuits to add some crunch)
Berries (strawberries, blueberries, raspberries) Pecan nuts or nuts of your choice!
Whipped cream

Cut the sponge cake into cubes and place them at the bottom of a trifle dish. Add your crushed biscuit layer here too!
Add a layer of jelly
Layer with a mix of berries.
Pour a generous amount of custard over the berries.
Repeat layers until the dish is filled.
Top with whipped cream and decorate with extra berries, and pecan nuts!
Chill in the fridge for a few hours before serving.

Classic Fruit Cake Bliss

Mixed dried fruits (raisins, currants, candied peel)
All-purpose flour
Brown sugar
Mixed spices

Soak dried fruits in a bowl with your favourite spirit overnight.
Preheat the oven and prepare a cake tin.
Cream butter and sugar, then add eggs one at a time.
Fold in sifted flour and mixed spices.
Add soaked fruits and mix well.
Pour the batter into the prepared tin and bake until a skewer comes out clean.
Allow the cake to cool before serving.
