Things to remember:

Practice Portion Control:

Opt for smaller portions of desserts. A taste can be just as satisfying as a large serving.
Use smaller plates and utensils to visually trick your mind into feeling satisfied with less.
Choose Favorites Wisely:

Be selective about which desserts you indulge in. Pick your absolute favorites rather than trying everything available.
Prioritize homemade treats or specialties that you look forward to all year.

Stay Hydrated:

Drink water before and after enjoying desserts. Hydration can help control hunger and prevent mindless overeating.
Consider sparkling water or herbal teas as festive and flavorful alternatives.

Mindful Eating:

Slow down and savor each bite. Pay attention to the flavors, textures, and aromas of the dessert.
Put your fork down between bites to give your body time to register that it’s satisfied.

Stay Active:

Incorporate physical activity into your holiday routine to help balance the extra calories.
Go for a walk after a big meal to aid digestion and boost your mood.

Plan Ahead:

If you know you’ll be enjoying a rich dessert later in the day, plan your meals accordingly by choosing lighter, nutrient-dense options earlier in the day.

Listen to Your Body:

Pay attention to hunger and fullness cues. Stop eating when you feel satisfied, not overly full.
Don’t feel obligated to finish everything on your plate.

Happy baking and even
happier holidays!
